Pape Meat Company (our 2010 Business of the Year winner) opened for business in Millbrae on November 15th, 1958. Two brothers, Ron and Bob Pape, founded the business inside what was then the old Stanaway Market at the corner of Hillcrest Blvd. and Broadway. It is now tucked inside the beautifully renovated Kimberly’s Fine Foods market in the same location. Famous for the their succulent Rack of Lamb (Pape’s supplies many of the Bay Area’s finest restaurants with their meat) and other specially flavored and prepared ‘take-and-cook’ meat dishes, Pape’s superior meats and attentive customer service (they’ll advise you on how to cook every cut) make them a must-shop for good cooks throughout the Bay Area.
