Millbrae is my home. I graduated from Meadows Elementary School, Taylor Middle School, Capuchino High School and later, UCLA. I returned home several years ago to care for my parents, Richard & Jacqueline. I support our seniors’ ability to stay in their homes, ensuring we live in a healthy community, caring for the environment and growing our economic base while supporting our existing businesses. My life work supports these values: mentoring Mills’ Green Youth Alliance students; counseling students on career opportunities; six weeks working on the San Bruno Gas Explosion as a Red Cross Disaster Volunteer; five years in economic development creating jobs, taught at UC Santa Cruz/SJSU; managed cost effective recycling programs at Hewlett Packard and City of San Jose; led Sierra Club recycling projects, served on the countywide curbside recycling Task Force and led our effort to incorporate recycling into California’s Climate Action Plans. Leadership and Program Development – Hewlett Packard. Balancing Budgets and Contract Management – City of San Jose. Economic & Job Development including permitting & regulatory assistance. Provided Business Assistance to over 1500 businesses through business creation & expansion – University of California, Santa Cruz. Educator at both High School and College levels. Worked with Staff & Elected Officials at all levels, City, County, State on laws, regulations and public education. Researched & received hundreds of thousands of dollars in grant funding for various projects.
